Discover Long Meg and daughters: A walk in the Eden Valley and North Pennines
We went on a magnificent walk in the Eden Valley to discover Long Meg and daughters. The walk has something for everyone, ancient monuments, outstanding views, caves, birds, butterflies, and a terrific teashop. The walk is 5.6 miles and offers one of finest stretches of riverside sections in the region. Itβs a terrific family walk, particularly for teenagers. The best part of the walk for us is the ancient monument of Long Meg and her daughters, a Bronze Age stone circle that is cloaked in mystery and legend.Β The stone circle is considered to be one of the finest ancient monument in the North of England.

Lacy’s Caves
Caves carved out of sandstone on the bank of the River Eden by Coll. Lacy, very dramatic with an eerie feel. Leah had a great time exploring the caves.
